ACD University Network Coordination Committee (ACD-UNCC)

The ACD High-Level Meeting on Asia Academic Collaboration held at Siam University, Bangkok, Thailand co-hosted by Siam University and Asia e University from 24 th to 25 th February 2016, has agreed in principles to the establishment of the ACD University Network (ACD-UN) to promote greater education and research collaboration among Asian universities and to use the Asian Credit Transfer System (ACTS) as an instrument to facilitate credit mobility across Asia. To move forward to the initiation to formalize the ACD-UN, participating members agreed to the formation of ACD University Network Coordination Committee (ACD-UNCC) to facilitate the academic exchange collaboration on innovation among proactive and internationally focused universities in ACD countries and formulate mechanisms for other academic institutions in the ACD to join the network. The ACD-UNCC comprises of representative of one university from each participating country at ACD High-Level Meeting on Asia Academic Collaboration held at Siam University, Bangkok, Thailand from 24 th to 25 th February 2016. The meeting endorsed the following institutions as initiating ACD-UNCC members:

 



 

ACD-UNCC shall work towards the following Agenda with a final objective to set up a Board of Trustee for ACD-UN:

 

  ARTICLE 1: TO RE-AFFIRM THE OBJECTIVES

 

The general objective of the ACD-UN is to enhance greater education and research collaboration among Institutions of Higher Learning in Asia by using various academic and research platforms as well as ACTS as instruments to promote sharing of information, good practices, expertise and resources to facilitate collaborative study and research programmes, credit transfer and mutual recognition, staff and student exchange activities.

 

  ARTICLE 2: TO REAFFIRM THE MEMBERSHIP ACD-UN COORDINATING COMMITTEE (ACD-UNCC)

  ARTICLE 3: TO MAKE RECOMMENDATION OF ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE OF THE ACD-UN FOR NEXT ROUND TABLE MEETING

 

To consider the organizational structure of ACD-UN as follows:


 

  ARTICLE 4: TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR ACD-UNCC

 


  ARTICLE 5: PARTICIPATING INSTITUTIONS

 

The Participating Institutions shall implement the agreed collaborative study/research programmes and staff/student mobility activities and take into consideration the use of ACTS as an instrument for credit transfer and mutual recognition.

 

  ARTICLE 6: SECRETARIAT OF ACD-UN

 

UNCC to consider the needs, functions, finance, how and where to establish such Secretariat in consultation with the Secretary-General of ACD.

 

  ARTICLE 7: ACCOUNT AND AUDIT

 

UNCC to consider sources of funds, authority and management of such funds and audit.

 

  ARTICLE 8: ADDITIONS AND AMENDMENTS

 

ACD-UNCC to discuss how the provisions of Terms of Reference may be amended or added upon request of any member, the authority for endorsement.

 

  ARTICLE 9: DISPUTES OF INTERPRETATION

 

ACD-UNCC to discuss how to settle any questions or disputes concerning the interpretations of any provision of the Terms of Reference and the authority.
